- Fantasy- films are the sub genre of the science fiction film genre. This genre works on taking the viewers to different universes where different laws govern nature and reality. Generally the fantasy sub-genre includes elements of magic and medieval or ancient settings. Some may be set in alternate versions of our reality where portals may lead to fantastical realms, recent examples include "Chronicles of Narnia" or "Pans Labyrinth".
